About Weather Spectrum
Weather Spectrum is a modern, high-precision meteorological observation platform created to provide Indian citizens, coastal communities, farmers, storm chasers, and travelers with real-time, zero-lag weather intelligence.
Traditional weather websites in India often suffer from outdated hourly snapshots, slow rendering, intrusive ads, or complex interfaces. Weather Spectrum was built from the ground up using GPU-accelerated WebGL rendering to deliver instantaneous, 20X continuous deep-zoom Doppler rain radar coverage across 97+ Indian cities and severe coastal cyclone belts.
Our Core Scientific Data Sources
We do not guess or rely on sensational forecasts. All telemetry displayed on Weather Spectrum is directly ingested from leading scientific institutions:
📡 Composite Doppler Radars
Real-time dual-polarization Doppler radar mosaics via RainViewer Global Network and India Meteorological Department (IMD) coastal and inland radar stations, updating every 5 to 10 minutes.
🌐 High-Resolution NWP Models
Ensemble numerical models including Germany's Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) ICON-EU 0.25° grid, ECMWF IFS, and NOAA GFS for high-accuracy 24-hour and 7-day precipitation forecasts.
💨 Live CPCB Air Quality Index
Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) continuous air quality monitoring stations measuring PM2.5, PM10, Nitrogen Dioxide, and sub-index air hazard classifications.
⚡ Sub-Second Edge Architecture
Built with React 19, Tailwind CSS, and Cloudflare Pages global edge CDN to ensure instant loading even under 2G/3G mobile connectivity during severe storm events.
Our Editorial Standards & Commitment
- Zero Clickbait: We do not publish exaggerated or alarming headlines. Every cyclone alert or heavy rain warning is objectively tethered to measured barometric pressure dips and Doppler reflectivity values.
- 100% Free Public Access: Weather telemetry is a public safety essential. We do not gate radar scans behind subscriptions.
- Community-Driven: We actively listen to feedback from fishermen in the Bay of Bengal, agrarian workers in the Godavari/Krishna delta, and urban commuters across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
